An E.C.A.D.R. Dog
Kelli is a cute little red and white
Japanese Chin, approximately 4-5 years old. Her owner died and the
family didn't want her. When she came into foster care she was very
overweight, unsocialized, and hadn't even been outside for over 2
years except for an occasional vet visit - she was trained to use
a litter box indoors. It's taken many months in her patient foster
home to get her to the point where she can be adoptable.
Kelli still has some leash phobia, so a fenced in yard would be a
plus. She can't do more than 4 or 5 steps and doesn't like to be
picked up - she will tense up when it's necessary to do so - so a
house with no stairs would be preferable. Kelli will do her business
outside, but has also been trained to use wee-wee pads when she is
inside and can't hold it (no more litter box!). Kelli craves attention
and would love to be an only child. She gets along with and plays
with the other two Chin in the house, but gets jealous when they
are getting the attention she feels should be all hers. Likes to
chase the cats - but wouldn't hurt them. Kelli loves affection and
adores being softly spoken to, but she isn't a kisser.
Kelli is being fostered in Philadelphia, PA and her adoption fee
is $200.
E-MAIL INQUIRIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO MUCH FASTER THAN TELEPHONE
CALLS.
NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers
to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We
have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered.
Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out
the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with
transport for a reasonable distance.
