An E.C.A.D.R. Dog
This poor guy's story is quite sad.
He was found outside a shelter in NY stuffed into a small cat carrier,
matted from head to toe, and with a large wound on his leg which
required staples.
He loves to play - and you wouldn't
know that the vet estimated him to be 10 years old based on his energy.
He gives
a little "Oscar the Grouch" protest when you first pick
him up and may even snap air if he feels threatened or frightened
- but with a knowledgeable owner he is truly a great companion. Oscar
can be a bit possessive of his food - it appeared that he didn't
get too many regular meals by how thin he was - and will guard his "treasure" until
he is finished. He seems to really take to men, but doesn't seem
to mind women, teens, other dogs, or cats. Oscar loves the car and
is just generally happy being with people.
Oscar is being fostered in Westtown, NY and his asking adoption
fee is $125.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of
gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting
is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each
dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to
travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually
volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
