An E.C.A.D.R. Dog
Marley is a sweet, little Chin/peke
mix that was hit by a car and left on the side of a busy roadway
to die. He suffered a major fracture to a hand leg/hip. He was picked
up by Animal Control. They took him to the Emergency Vet, but once
they learned that the surgery to fix his injuries would be $2,000,
there was little they could do. Their options were to euthanize him
immediately or allow him to stay in a cage untreated until his holding
period had passed and then euthanize him.
They reached out to ECADR,
who agreed to pay for the surgery if AC would coordinate it. He
was taken for surgery immediately and turned over to ECADR to foster
until his holding period was up. Marley did great in surgery, which
had to be tough on such a little fellow (vet estimates him to be
6-8 months old and less then 8 pounds).
He is such a sweet, affectionate
little guy. You'd never know he's been through so much. Now that
his hold period is up, Marley is officially in our foster program.
Any donations toward his vetting will be very much appreciated.
Marley
is being fostered in Suffolk, VA and will be available for
adoption after being cleared by his veterinarian and neutered. His
asking
adoption fee is $350. E-MAIL INQUIRIES
WILL BE RESPONDED TO FASTER THAN TELEPHONE CALLS.
NOTE: Due to the volatile price of
gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting
is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each
dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to
travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually
volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
